Seattle Beer Week at The Beer Authority

Seattle Beer Week, 10 days where the city goes nuts with beer, is just a week away and The Beer Authority is taking part this year!  As you probably know, SBW promotes events at any place that has anything to do with beer - breweries, bottle shops, brewpubs, etc - from May 13 to May 23rd.  We are having three events at our place and we sure hope you'll join us:

  • Saturday, May 15th Noon - 9pm.  Polish Festival, "Drowning of the Witch Marzana".  This Polish festival is celebrated to usher in a good planting season, and as tradition goes an effigy of a witch named Marzana is dunked in water.  We'll be offering an entire menu of Polish beers, a free glassware give-away to ther first 24 people in for Polish beer and some Polish delicacies like perogies and polish sausage.
  • Wednesday, May 19th Noon - 9pm.  "If It's Not Scottish, It's Crap!"  We'll be showcasing tons of Scottish beers from Scotland as well as many others inspired by their styles.  We'll also have a blind taste test between true Scotch Ales and those from the US.  Wear a kilt and we'll waive the tasting fee.
  • Friday, May 21 5-9pm.  "Dirty Beer Night."  What goes on in the minds of brewers?  With a rash of morally questionable labels in the market today we're putting together the best (worst?) dirty labels in the business.  Vote for your favorite dirty beer and we'll put the winner on sale the following week.  Join us and a special guest bartender (who we think channels Ron Jeremy) for beers like 7Seas Ballz Deep, Midnight Sun's Panty Peeler, Oskar Blues Old Chub and many, many more.
